The Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

NM Wadia’s Intensive Treatment Unit (ICU) is a specialized facility furnished with standard technology to offer patients with illnesses or accidents that pose a serious risk to their lives, comprehensive and critical treatment. It boasts a highly skilled staff of medical professionals who can treat critically ill patients closely and continuously around the clock.
Patients who have problems with one or more body systems—such as their heart, lungs, or kidneys—may require specialized care. ICU admissions can be unanticipated, such as after a vehicle accident, trauma, or worsening of a patient’s condition, or prearranged, such as for intensive monitoring after major surgery.
Critically ill patients can receive pre-hospital care before and throughout their transit thanks to the hospitals’ adequately equipped ambulance services and highly skilled paramedics. The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) protocols serve as the foundation for the doctors’ work in the intensive care unit.
Upon arrival at the triage area, patients are closely observed while being seen and stabilized. For the benefit of the patients, the specialists work at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit around the clock.
